Statement from Moto Hospitality Ltd re: Planning consent for Brodsworth service area

We are very disappointed that our application to build a new motorway service area at Junction 37 of the A1(M) at Brodsworth has been turned down by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council’s planning committee.

It is our belief that the proposed site would have had a significant positive impact on the local economy, representing an investment of £40 million and bringing with it 215 permanent jobs. In addition, local residents and businesses would have benefited from further jobs created during the construction phase and in the subsequent supply chain.

We are now considering our next steps and are unable to provide further comment at this stage.

366 people view proposals for new MSA!

Moto held two consultation events in late November at Scawsby Community Centre and Frenchgate Shopping Centre.

Over the two events 366 people viewed the materials on display and talked to members of the team about the plans.

Moto will be submitting an application to Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council in early 2017 and all feedback received will be included in the application documents.
